Master Pottery in 6 Weeks with Chisel Pottery Classes.

In the weekly classes, you will learn how to make ceramic work from start to finish and build some great relationships with like-minded people!

During 6 weeks - you will be introduced to different pottery techniques including pinching, coiling, slab building, and throwing.

There will also be time to explore different decorative techniques including glazing.

You can expect to make and complete around 5-6 pieces during the term.

Each session is 2 hours. Runs for 6 weeks.

Week 1 – Let's Get Rolling with The Potter's Wheel

Get ready to transform a ball of clay into something amazing! With the guidance of your tutor, you'll master the art of centring and throwing clay to craft 2 to 3 pieces of your design. Plus, we'll dive into the secrets of making spouts!

Week 2 – Is all about the perfect bottoms!

More Fun on the Wheel and Perfecting Your Pieces from Week 1! Learn how to expertly "turn" your pots and give them that professional finish. We'll provide the tools you need to add a footring and refine the shape of your masterpieces.

Week 3 - Let Your Creativity Shine with Decorative Techniques 

Get ready to jazz up your pottery with some decorative flair! This week is all about exploring different techniques like slip painting, sgraffito, and even making your handles.

Week 4 - Let's Get Hands-On with Hand-Building (Slab Technique) 

Ready to switch things up? We'll dive into the world of hand-building using the slab technique. Get creative as you mould clay into unique shapes and forms.

Week 5 - Sculpting Your Masterpiece: Hand-Building a Vase (Pinch Technique + Carving or Coiling) Discover the art of hand-building as we focus on creating stunning vases using the pinch technique and adding intricately carved details.

Week 6 - Adding the Finishing Touch with Glazing In our final week together, we'll explore the magic of glazes! Learn how to use different glazing techniques to add colour and depth to your pottery creations.
